With all this in mind a new term has evolved and called as CARBON TAX this is like other indirect tax that are levied on us, rather these taxes are imposed on countries rather than on individual. The main idea regarding carbon tax is to force countries to go for renewable resources such as wind, solar energy, wind energy etc.

The government sets a price per ton on carbon, then translates it into a tax on electricity generation and  natural gas . Because carbon tax makes these fossils fuels more expensive, it encourages businesses and individuals to reduce consumption and increase energy efficiency. Carbon tax also makes alternative energy more cost-competitive with cheaper, polluting fossils fuels.

Carbon tax is based on the concept of negative externalities. Externalities are benifits that are produced when some good and services are produced. Negative externalities are cost paid by the society, since the lawmakers think that with carbon pollution every one in the society suffers, the corporates need to pay for such social cost. The one liner is if you make the society dirty, clean it or pay for it.carbon tax 243x300 Carbon Tax An Insight
