Love Across the Salt Desert

by Shaukat Ali on April 14, 2010

Long time ago when I was a student I read a story LOVE ACROSS THE SALT DESERT, the story was a perfect example that whatever be the cultural difference among us, love has no boundaries. A love story of a boy and girl who belong to different country. Religion, caste, ethics become just words when the air is blissed by love. Memory loss has wizened my mind so I don’t remember what was the climax.

Then I saw a movie Heena, again a story on a similar line where the climax was not happy, the boy from India and the Girl from Pakistan, similar to that bollywood again made another movie staring Abhishek  and Karena. Sorry cannot remember the name. Well if you think that all this anecdote is just on papers, I would say its now you have a memory loss.

Pakistan Cricket maestro Shoiab Malik and Sania Mirza the Tennis icon for India made this story a success. Well their relation seems to be in a little controversy as of now, but they have taken a pioneering step and set an example that still India and Pakistan have some feeling of love for each other.

The facebook has a special page for greeting Sania Mirza as “Welcome Bhabhi “, clearly the immortal apathy among the two country men seems to be coming to an end. The only question I have will this marriage bring any harmony among the countries ? Or their story will be another LOVE ACROSS THE SALT DESERT.

The present India Pakistan relation is self explanatory, the relation in recent decades have not been so good,Future is difficult to judge, what I can do, is to wish that they remain happy and may be thier step could bring sweet thoughts for both the country.
