According to ISRO(Indian Space Research Organization), mission Chandrayan is over now. This is not a good news for ISRO fans as the connection from ISRO was terminated at 0130 hrs (IST) on 29th August. This was the major reason to terminate the mission.
ISRO scientist unable to get the data due to the connection break. But the good news is that, the mission is accomplished as 96 percent of research work had been done.
Chandrayaan-I spacecraft was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota on October 22, 2008 and completed 312 sucessful days.
It is a huge coincidence that the day of entering Chandrayan into lunar orbit(November 8, 2008) is same as the day of its loss of contact, i.e.Saturday.
This is the first snap of Earth send from Chandrayan.
Chandrayan was made by ISRO and HAL and it also involve some hands of international agencies in payloads. The mission of Chandrayan was mainly focussed on to conduct 3D mapping of Moon, detection of Radioactive elements, detection of water at poles.
